I got this 1966 Bonneville for one reason, I grew up in this car, I was born in 65, my dad saved his money and got a 1966 Bonneville convertible. What a car she was, the day my dad sold it he cried, now I have been a car nut as long as I can remember and I guess you can say its in my blood. Ive had GTOs Vents,Lemans,Cats and my best my 1969 71 and 72 Gran Prixs. Love them 428s and 455s. Sure a 350 and 400 are good, But when you lock rubber at the end of the trap with a 428 pushing you. Wow! Is all one can say. Well back to the Bonne.
The reason my dad sold her is due to my mom given birth to her 4th child, my baby brother. He needed the cash to pay bills as we all have done time after time.
Well I was on E Bay, I know, never buy a car unseen. But I wanted a 66 like my dad had. And none to be found here in Ohio for $1500.00. I found one in New Jersey, All I could say to my buddy shaking his head don't do it was, I have to Man! Well he said them fun words, ROAD TRIP! Ha Ha next day I got a truck and the wife said I will call you in a trailer once you get their, and here's your hotel you will be staying at. WHAT! My wife is going to let me do this. What can a boy say? I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! She laugh and asked once you get the car back to show shape, can I have the old 1971 Corvette Stingray with the Big Block and 4 speed! And we can sell my 1975 MGB and the 1971 Lemans. I told her sure, I built them for you, and there yours to do with as you see fit. And yes my Love, The Vette is yours! What a hug I got. Well the road trip was on, after I got loaded, guess what. Title is no good. So I called NJ police dept and ask if I can run this by them before I leave the state. Lucky it was clean, and they thanked me for stopping in and not adding to the stolen car rate. NJ is a bad place I found out to buy a car. Well here are some pixs of the 66 Bonne. If anyone can let me know where to find parts for her, I would thank you, Year one has nota for her. I need a trunk lid and under the rear window a panel. Thank you Mr. Adams in Ohio

And Thank You High Performance Pontiac for haveng this area for us non mint pontiac owners to show their rusty but Loved of Pontiac cars, I remeber when you guys were Just TA only. you come a long way guys.

And as for when the work will start, this is funny.
I WILL NOT FIT IN MY SHOP! AHHHHHHH. so we are Exstending the shop. we did not plan for that. Now wife is not happy. Ha Ha. I will up-date this as we biuld the 66. first it is going to be poped off her frame and start with body, after we get frame back from sand blasters and repair what ever is needed, then its off for galvanizeing. yes it is coustly, but you never biuld you home on sand! you must have a good foundation.
I know she isnt much to look at now, but she is my 1966 Pontiac. and  got 2 428s under my bench, humm I think they mite find their way to the 66, Naaaaa my hot rod days are slowing down, beside my son wants a 1978 Black Bird, and I think I found one for 500.00 here in Ohio for him. and yes it will need a bible when you buy a car in a rust belt area. Ha Ha

Awesome story! I purchased a beautiful 65 Bonne last year and can't wait to get started on her. My wife, unlike yours...say, i purchased a piece of junk...I think other wise. I also have a 77 MGB i bought over the summer...love this car! Ask me, and I will send pics. I am so happy you decided to go back to your roots and buy the 66 Bonne....she's a beauty! They say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...I wished that was the case with my wife...pray for me! On another note, I've had good luck with a company out of Wyoming for parts (wyomingclassiccars.com) check out the site you might find something of interest. Feel for ya.

Now ya gots many late nights.

Picked up a 65 Bonnie fall of 07.  Hauled it home with my semi flatbed.  Fixed it a bit that winter, besides drivin it a bit, then got it running purty good over the summer.

Mine is be a driver.  Got fenders off now and door panels getting redone.  Patching the rust and minor dings.  will do a quicky paint when weather warms up.

See yours used to have the vinyl roof also.  Carpet, weather stripping, vinyl roof, etc. can still be had.

As I redo suspention next month will try to lower it some more.  Most have a lowrider Chevy.  Think the bonnie will be a neat one to do.  Sides that, the pontiacs are quicker.
