I traded in my 1995 Grand Prix SE for this 2001 Grand Prix GT coupe in September when the old GP started having more problems. I had to get another GP because of how much fun they are and different then the normal sports car. I am also a Member of the Michigan Grand Prix club (MIGPC.com).
Its a Red 2001 Grand Prix GT coupe loaded with everything you could get.
The second day I owned this car I cut the mufflers off because it was too quite. Then I took it to the local muffler shop to have some pipe welded in place of them and new tips put one. Then I bought new upper grills for it and painted the front calipers and put a K&N drop in filter in her.
In one of the MIGPC events we go up to Mid Michigan Motorplex in April and then again in September. I had the old GP in the April one and I ran a best of 16.1@81mph. But in the September on I had just got the new GP and all that was done to it was no mufflers and drop in filter. I ran a best of a 15.4 @88mph which is about half a second faster then stock.
My plans for the car are big. I want to get into the low 12s with it. So I plan on doing a Top Swap from a GTP, cam, headers, possibly NOS, and bunch of other stuff to support it. I also want to get a F1 hood black racing stripes lower it and put some 17inch rims on her tint tint the tail lights halo projectors for the front and some different fog lights. But I also have 4 years to pay on it still so that will come first and the mods little by little.
