I recently aquired this 1971 gto judge, I always kept my eyes open for a white 71 gto, I was not looking for a judge but came across this car, It was purchased new in Tawas Michigan, The original owner turned it into a weekend drag car after it was scratched in his dealer lot in the mid 70s.Although some of it was quarter mile at a time the car only has 16000 acual miles on it, He went with the full 70s style, He then went bankrupt and sold the car to good friend who put it in a garage for more than thirty years, The car has its original 455 HO motor and th400 trans, The interior is near perfect and the car has never been damaged in any way, No rust anywhere, Its fun to drive as is, I will probably be restoring the paint to the original white with correct Judge stripes. It also came with its original rally 2 wheels. If anyone out there knows what color decals this car should have on it please let me know, The original build sheet says paint stripe (A)  decal (R) special option (J). Thanks

I would leave it as it is at least for a while. That is a cool ride.

I have to say its interesting that I have negative and positive remarks on the paint allready,Now I have to tell you more! I have only owned the car since mid summer and its been a great contriversy all over wether I should paint it or leave it.Sometimes I feel ashamed to say that I think its really cool and I should leave it for a while, Then I walk through the garage and want to just start stripping the paint off, The car would look really nice restored with the Judge stripes,On the other hand once its gone its gone forever, and just think of the time and effort that went into this bazzar paint job, Not to mention the expensive drugs. So whats more important, Nastalgia? or originality. One things for sure, People either love it or hate it.anyway thanks for your comments, I appretiate them in both directions. If I do repaint it, I will probably save the center of the hood as a conversation peice.

I'd be embarassed to drive such a classic car with a ugly paint job like that!A little advice...have that nice goat repainted its original colour.

Wow! Flashback for sure! I'll bet it's fun to cruise it just the way it is. If it really is as nice as it looks, I'd leave it as is. You can paint it anytime, but that level of cool needs to be seen. Too many people forget that that's what guys did to their muscle cars back then. I love it!
