Finally got the Daughter out of college and found a 1/8 mile drag racer who decided his GTO was a better ride then his Firebird. Had a 1974 455 somehow installed on a weird angle, his weight trimming program was to let it rust everywhere and don't fix it.
Got together with a few friends in a garage to paint it. One a Mopar fan, One a Chevy Guy and then little old me the Pontiac nut. A case of beer (OK maybe two) a roll of tape and poof you have the Yenko, Hemi, Pontiac stipping that sits on top new quarters, new fenders, and the repaired rusted out floor.
Rebuilt a 1974 455 (420hp), rebuilt the transmission (TH-400), New Moser Rear with 3:73 gearing and a real blast to drive. Dropped the front end 2", connected the sub-frame, Sway bars, new suspension and you end up with a very nice ride on those curved riverside roads.....
Now it's on the a 69 Coupe to handle the old drag engine sitting under the work bench. Seems it needs a with a little more "Frame" then a Convertible provides.
