Folks, proud to be a member here and appreciate seeing all your cars.
I am adding a Pontiac Hood Tach to my car and if anyone has the proper placement measurements I would sure appreciate it.

Pete;

Depending on who you bought it from (Mine came from Ames Performance) they include a template with all the data you need.

If you end up without it, not to worry. If you look on the back side (under) the hood, you'll see a opening in the frame work of the hood. You simply get a large hole saw, locate the center and you got the spot. I also had to buy the wiring harness (from Ames but Year One has it to).

Here's what the instructions stated:

12 inches forward of the rear corner (of the hood) 2 inches from the drivers side (of the hood). The hole turned out to be 4 inches in diameter and when I followed their specs I was off maybe 1.4" from hitting the hole dead center.

They actually provided a template which I could fax you if you have a number. I'd wait till you get it and see if they have one but no problem, I keep EVERYTHING......

Scary drilling a hole in a hood if you know what I mean.

Love the color combo, the red interior really sets the car off. I almost owned a 69 but the deal did not work out, now I have my dream car!

Well can't wait for spring, the hood tach arrived and is being painted and I also bought a passenger side mirror.
Had a real stroke of luck finding an original radio brand new old stock from a dealership who found it while moving their warehouse.

Chrome alternator arrived today, I have decided to raise the whole car between and inch and inch and a half this spring. Tires run too close to the inside fender well when more than 2 passengers are in the car.
When the rear tires need replacing I will move the front ones back and buy smaller ones for the front.
