I have always had an interest in the 1967 through 1972 era of the General Motors F-body platform! More specifically the Pontiac Firebirds. And more specifically than that. The first Generation of Firebirds (1967-1969).
As a younger man, from 18 - 20, i worked at a General Motors dealership in the parts department, and on saturday shifts would flip through all the old bound book service and parts manuals for GMs muscle era cars, and learned the ins and outs of the Firebird specifically. Vowing to one day buy this type of car and restore it.
Fastfoward a few years (like 3 and a half) and i finally had some start up money aside to realize this project, and so the hunt started. Find a bird i could afford, in not too bad condition and without the inflated 'collectable' price tag alot of sellers tack onto the value of the car. Specifically i was looking for an original OHC (Overhead Cam) inline 6 motor (i will explain later)
Took some time, but i managed to find one in not so bad shape. And so, a very long, project started!
