This is my 1973 Trans Am. She took me five years to complete and we did a frame off restoration. It took extensive work to save her from the rust issues, but we were able to keep this one alive. She packs a 455 ci, with 4 speed transmission. Engine mods include a 40 over bore, KB pistons, Crane cam, roller rockers, 1971 #197 HO round port heads, Hooker super comps, Edelbrock Performer intake and Carb, a 3" exhaust system and custom made 3" turndown tips.. The dash is a fabricated stainless piece I designed with all auto meter guages and round AC vents. We also incorporated the original AC controller into this dash as well. The sound system consists of an Alpine AM, FM, CD, TV, DVD player with eight speakers inside and a 10" sub in the trunk with two amps. We installed all power options and air conditioning as well. This vehicle also includes all poly bushings, frame connectors, and ladder bars. To keep the old muscle car look, I chose the classic slot mags with 295-50-15's all around. The 1976 hood is also customized with a cutout for the shaker, an airbrushed bird and hood tach. Of course, she is not finished yet, but at least I get to put miles on her because this is a car to be driven. Please be sure to vote on this vehicle and let me know what you think. Here's to keeping these birds alive!

Great job on the car big guy! Funny how you think when you start a restoration it won't be to bad. Then you start getting into it and find more and more problems. But I have to say excellent job on everything. I like how you combined a couple years of the car together. The style is awsome and props to that. The airbrush job is very nicely incorperated into the car also. Enjoy the car and great job.

Cool car. I like the workmanship. As far as I'm concerned, this vintage is the best looking Firebird ever! I've got to get me one!

Jim, what a cool looking car, the five slot mags are truly classic! Love the "Corvette Summer" hood treatment, never seen it done using the 75/76 Formula hood, seen it with the early Formula hood but it looks great the way the shaker sits right between the scoops. Hard to believe you had rust issues, I suppose being so close to the Gulf with the salt in the air plays a big part. I'm from Canada, but have relatives in Corpus Christi, recognized the Padre Island signs.
